Car
If you are traveling by car, start from the nearby town of Höfn. Head northwest on Route 1 (the Ring Road) for approximately 70 kilometers (about 43 miles). You will pass through beautiful landscapes, including mountains and coastlines. Look for the signs directing you to Stöng, which is located off Route 1. Turn left onto Road 1 and continue for about 15 kilometers (9 miles). You will see a sign for Stöng, and the Viking-era Long house will be on your right. Parking is available on-site.

For those using public transportation, take a bus from Höfn to the nearby village of Vik. From Vik, you will need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to reach Stöng, as there are limited direct bus services to the Long house. Make sure to check the bus schedule in advance and book your taxi ahead of time. The taxi ride from Vik to Stöng will take approximately 20 minutes and may cost around 3000-5000 ISK depending on the provider.
