Start from the center of Egilsstaðir, ideally near the Egilsstaðir Town Hall. Head northwest on Aðalstræti, the main street. Continue straight for about 1 km until you reach the intersection with Borgarfjarðarvegur. Turn left onto Borgarfjarðarvegur and continue walking for approximately 2.5 km. You will see signs for Kjarvalshvammur along the way. The cabin and boathouse are located on your right side along the road.

Rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Egilsstaðir. Begin your ride from the center of town, heading northwest on Aðalstræti. After about 1 km, turn left onto Borgarfjarðarvegur. Continue biking on this road for about 2.5 km. Look out for signs indicating Kjarvalshvammur; the cabin and boathouse will be on your right as you approach.

Check the local bus schedule for any routes that go towards Borgarfjarðarvegur. You can catch a bus from the Egilsstaðir bus stop, located near the town center. Ask the driver to drop you off near Kjarvalshvammur or the closest stop.
