Getting There

Walking
Start from the center of Grindavik. Head southwest on Aðalgata street toward the coast. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Suðurstrandarvegur (Route 43). Turn right onto Suðurstrandarvegur, following the road signs toward Fagradalsfjall. Continue walking along this road for about 3 km. You will eventually see a marked path leading up to Fagradalsfjall on your left. Follow the signs leading to the hiking trail, which will take you to the base of the volcano.

If you have access to a bicycle, start from the center of Grindavik. Ride southwest on Aðalgata street until you reach Suðurstrandarvegur (Route 43).
