From Grindavik, walk to the nearest bus stop, which is located at the center of the town, near the Grindavik Swimming Pool. Take the bus number 55 heading towards Reykjavík. The journey will take approximately 30-40 minutes. Make sure to check the bus schedule ahead of time. Once you reach the Reykjavík bus terminal, transfer to bus number 14, which will take you directly to the Laugardalur area where the Reykjavík Park and Zoo is located. Get off at the Laugardalur stop, and you'll find the entrance to the zoo a short walk away.

If you prefer a more direct route, you can take a taxi from Grindavik to Reykjavík Park and Zoo. Taxis can be found at various locations around Grindavik. The journey will take about 30 minutes, and you can ask the driver to take you to 104 Reykjavík, the address of the zoo. It's advisable to confirm the fare before starting your trip.

If you are staying in a nearby location and prefer to walk, head towards the main road leading out of Grindavik. Follow signs towards Reykjavík, which is about 50 km away. This is a long walk and not recommended, but if you are determined, ensure to wear comfortable shoes and bring water. You will eventually reach the outskirts of Reykjavík. Once in the city, navigate towards the Laugardalur area where the zoo is situated.
