Walking
From the center of Hveragerdi, head towards the main road, Þjóðvegur 1 (also known as the Ring Road). Walk north on Þjóðvegur 1 for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach the intersection with Gagnheiði street. Turn left on Gagnheiði and continue walking straight until you reach the bus station. From there, you can take Bus 51 towards Reykjavík. Make sure to check the bus schedule for the next departure. Once you arrive in Reykjavík, disembark at the Laugardalur stop, which is the closest stop to the Reykjavík Art Museum Ásmundarsafn. From the bus stop, walk about 500 meters south along Sigtún street until you reach the museum at Sigtún 105.

If you prefer cycling, rent a bicycle from one of the rental shops in Hveragerdi. Start by heading north on Þjóðvegur 1 for approximately 1.5 kilometers. After reaching the intersection with Gagnheiði street, turn left and continue until you reach the bus station. You can cycle along the bike paths that lead to Reykjavík. Upon entering the city, look for signage directing you towards Laugardalur. Keep cycling south until you reach Sigtún street. The museum will be located at Sigtún 105 on your right.

To get to Reykjavík Art Museum Ásmundarsafn using public transportation, first, make your way to the Hveragerdi bus station. Board Bus 51 towards Reykjavík. The journey will take approximately 40 minutes. Once you arrive at the Laugardalur stop in Reykjavík, walk approximately 500 meters south on Sigtún street until you arrive at the museum at Sigtún 105.
