From the main Landmannalaugar campsite, head south towards the marked hiking trails. Follow the signs leading to the Laugavegur trailhead. The trail will take you through beautiful volcanic landscapes and colorful rhyolite mountains. After approximately 1 hour of hiking, you will reach the edge of Frostastaðavatn lake. Make sure to bring water and snacks for the journey.

If you have access to a 4x4 vehicle, you can drive to Frostastaðavatn. From Landmannalaugar, take the F208 road heading south. Continue for about 30 km, following the road signs. You will need to cross a few rivers, so ensure your vehicle is suitable for such conditions. The drive will take approximately 1 hour. Once you reach the parking area near the lake, you can take a short walk to the water’s edge.
