If you're traveling by car, start your journey on Route 1 (Ring Road) heading east from Reykjavík. Continue on Route 1 for about 100 km until you reach the junction with Route 30. Take the exit onto Route 30 towards Selfoss and continue for approximately 35 km. When you reach the town of Þingvellir, take Route 36 towards Laugarvatn. After about 20 km, turn left onto Route 37. Follow Route 37 for about 20 km until you see a sign for Ljótipollur. A gravel road will lead you to the lake; be cautious as the road conditions can vary. Parking is available near the lake.
