Head east on the main road (F208) out of Landmannalaugar. Continue driving for about 15 kilometers along F208 until you reach the junction with the road Fjallabaksleið Nyrðri. Turn left onto Fjallabaksleið Nyrðri and continue for another 5 kilometers, where you will find the lake on your right. Make sure to drive carefully, as the roads can be rough and unpaved in some sections. Note that a 4x4 vehicle is recommended for this journey due to the terrain. No additional costs are incurred unless you need to rent a 4x4 vehicle.
