Walking
From the main campsite in Landmannalaugar, head east towards the trail that leads to the Laugahraun lava field. Follow the marked paths towards the south. Continue along the trail for approximately 3 kilometers (about 1.9 miles) until you reach the intersection with the Fjallabaksleið Nyrðri road. Turn left onto the road and follow it for another 2 kilometers (about 1.2 miles). You will see signs directing you towards Tungnaárfellsfoss. The waterfall is visible from the road, and you will need to take a short hike off the road to get closer.

If you have a rental car, exit the campsite and drive towards the Fjallabaksleið Nyrðri road. The route is accessible for 4x4 vehicles. Drive approximately 5 kilometers (about 3.1 miles) south on Fjallabaksleið Nyrðri, and look for parking areas along the road near the waterfall. Be mindful of gravel roads and check the vehicle's capability for such terrain. Parking is usually free, but check local signs for any updates.
