From Reykjavik, head north on Route 1 (the Ring Road) towards Mosfellsbær. Continue for approximately 10 km until you reach the intersection with Route 36. Turn right onto Route 36 and continue for about 3 km. Look for signs directing you to Tungufoss Waterfall. Turn left onto a smaller road, which will lead you toward the waterfall. Park at the designated area near the trailhead. The waterfall is a short hike from the parking area.

Take bus number 15 from the central bus station in Reykjavik, heading towards Mosfellsbær. The bus ride takes approximately 30 minutes. Get off at the stop 'Mosfellsbær' and walk towards Route 36. From there, you might need to walk approximately 2 km along Route 36 towards Tungufoss. It's advisable to check the schedule for return buses as they may not run frequently, and ensure you have a bus pass or pay for your ticket on the bus.
