Car
From Reykjavík Capital Area, head northeast on Suðurlandsbraut/Ground Road (Route 1). Continue on Route 1 for about 10 km until you reach the exit for Mosfellsbær. Take this exit and follow the signs for Mosfellsbær, merging onto Mosfellsheiði (Route 36). Continue straight for approximately 3 km, and then turn right onto Álafossvegur. After about 1 km, you will arrive at Álafoss Waterfall, which will be on your right. There is free parking available nearby.

To reach Álafoss Waterfall via public transportation, start at the Reykjavík Bus Terminal (BSÍ). Take bus number 15 towards Mosfellsbær. The journey will take approximately 30 minutes. Get off at the stop 'Álafoss', which is the closest stop to the waterfall. From the bus stop, it's a short 10-minute walk down Álafossvegur to reach the waterfall. Note that bus fares will incur a cost, typically around 500 ISK for a single ticket.
