Start at the Selfoss town center, located near the Selfoss Church. Head southwest on Þjóðvegur 1 (Route 1) towards Ásólfsskáli. Continue walking on Route 1 for about 2.5 kilometers until you reach the intersection with the road leading to Ásólfsskáli. Turn left onto the road. Continue for an additional 1.5 kilometers, and you will find Íráfoss waterfall on your right side, marked by a small path that leads to the waterfall. The total walking distance from Selfoss is approximately 4 kilometers.

For those who prefer cycling, start at the Selfoss town center. Rent a bicycle from one of the local shops if you haven't already. Head southwest on Þjóðvegur 1 (Route 1), cycling on the cycle lane for about 2.5 kilometers. When you reach the intersection with the road to Ásólfsskáli, turn left. Continue cycling for another 1.5 kilometers until you see Íráfoss waterfall on your right-hand side. This route is approximately 4 kilometers total and is mostly flat, making it accessible for most cyclists.
