To reach Kolugljúfur Canyon by car, start from the town of Vík í Mýrdal, which is a popular base for tourists in the Southern Region. Head northwest on Route 1 (the Ring Road) for approximately 70 kilometers until you reach the junction with Route 62. Turn left onto Route 62 and continue for about 30 kilometers. Look for signs for Kolugljúfur Canyon as you approach Víðidalstunga, where you will find the parking area at 8CMH+9F4. The canyon is just a short walk from the parking area.

If you are using public transportation, take a bus from Vík í Mýrdal to Reykjavík. From Reykjavík, you can catch a bus to Víðidalstunga. Please check local bus schedules as services may vary. Once in Víðidalstunga, you may need to walk approximately 2 kilometers to reach the Kolugljúfur Canyon. Be sure to plan your trip according to the bus schedule, as there may be limited services.
