Car
If you are traveling by car, start from the town of Hveragerði, which is about 45 kilometers from Stöng. Head east on Route 1 (the Ring Road) towards Selfoss. After approximately 25 kilometers, take the exit towards Route 32 towards Þingvellir. Continue on Route 32 for about 20 kilometers until you reach the junction with Route 30. Turn right onto Route 30 and follow the signs for Stöng. The longhouse is located near the Þjórsárdalur valley. There is a parking area available near the site, and there is no fee for parking.

If you are using public transportation, take a bus from Reykjavik to Selfoss. Several companies operate this route, and you can check schedules online. Once in Selfoss, you will need to take a taxi or arrange a shuttle to reach Stöng, as there is no direct public transport to the site. Be prepared for a taxi fare that can range from 10,000 ISK to 15,000 ISK (approximately $70 to $100) depending on the service and any additional stops.

For the more adventurous, consider cycling from Selfoss. The route is approximately 30 kilometers and takes you through scenic areas. Start by heading south on Route 30 from Selfoss.
