Getting There

  • Walking

    Start at the intersection of Warm Springs Avenue and Park Boulevard. Head east on Warm Springs Avenue for about 0.5 miles. You'll pass by several local cafes and shops, which can be a nice stop if you need refreshments. Continue until you reach the intersection with Old Penitentiary Road. Turn left onto Old Penitentiary Road and walk straight for about 0.3 miles. The Idaho State History Center will be on your right at 2205 Old Penitentiary Rd.

    If you have a bicycle, you can take the Greenbelt Pathway for a scenic ride. Start at the East End neighborhood and head towards the Boise River Greenbelt. Follow the path along the river until you reach the Old Penitentiary area. Once you reach the Old Penitentiary Road, head north until you see the Idaho State History Center on your left.
