Getting There

  • Walking

    From the Cahokia Mounds Visitor Center, exit the building and head southwest towards the large mounds in the park. Follow the path leading towards Monk's Mound, which is the largest mound in Cahokia. Once you reach the base of Monk's Mound, continue along the trails that lead to Woodhenge. Look for signs that indicate the direction to Woodhenge. The walk is approximately 0.5 miles and should take about 15-20 minutes.

  • Biking

    If you have access to a bike, you can ride from the Cahokia Mounds Visitor Center to Woodhenge. There are bike paths throughout the park. Start by cycling southwest from the Visitor Center towards Monk's Mound. Once you reach Monk's Mound, follow the marked trails towards Woodhenge. The biking distance is also around 0.5 miles and should take about 5-10 minutes.

    If you are driving, head out of the Cahokia Mounds Visitor Center parking lot and turn left onto Collinsville Road. Then, take a right onto Route 111.
