Getting There

• Walking

  If you are staying in downtown Champaign, you can easily walk to West Side Park. Start at the corner of East Main Street and North Neil Street. Head west on East Main Street until you reach North Walnut Street, then turn left. Continue south on North Walnut Street until you reach West University Avenue. Here, you will see West Side Park directly ahead at 400 W University Ave. The walk will take approximately 15-20 minutes.

• Biking

  For a quicker route, consider renting a bike. You can pick up a bike at various rental stations around Champaign. Start from the corner of North Neil Street and East Main Street. Head west on East Main Street until you reach North Walnut Street, then turn left. Continue south on North Walnut Street, which will take you directly to West University Avenue. Turn right on West University Avenue, and you will find West Side Park at 400 W University Ave. The bike ride should take around 10 minutes.

• Public Transit

  If you prefer public transportation, you can take the Champaign-Urbana Mass Transit District (MTD) bus. Look for the bus routes that stop at the nearest intersection, which is University Avenue and Walnut Street. You can catch the #5 (Green) or #7 (Orange) bus from various locations in Champaign. Once you arrive at the stop, West Side Park is just a short walk away; cross University Avenue, and the park will be directly ahead at 400 W University Ave. The bus ride will take about 10-15 minutes depending on your starting location.
