Driving
From Interstate 80, take Exit 81 for Utica. Head south on IL-178 for 2.5 miles. Turn left onto N 27th Rd/Dee Bennett Rd and continue for 1.5 miles. Turn right into the marked driveway for the Illinois Waterway Visitors Center. Parking is available at the visitor center.

Walking
If you are coming from Starved Rock State Park, you can walk across the Illinois River to the Illinois Waterway Visitor Center. From the Starved Rock Lodge, take the metal staircase behind the east portion of the Lodge to the main parking lot. From there, follow the signs to the Illinois Waterway Visitor Center. Please note that walking on the steep, windy road from the Lodge to the lower area is not permitted due to safety concerns.
