From the Lincoln Home National Historic Site visitor center, head east on E. Adams St toward S. 8th St. Continue walking for about 0.5 miles. You will pass the Old State Capitol on your right. When you reach S. 8th St, turn left and continue walking north for two blocks until you reach E. Jackson St. Turn right onto E. Jackson St, and the Charles Arnold House will be on your left at 816 E Jackson St.

From the Lincoln Home National Historic Site, walk to the nearest bus stop at S. 8th St & E. Adams St. Board the Sangamon Mass Transit District (SMTD) bus route #1 or #2, which runs frequently. Inform the driver you would like to get off at the stop near E. Jackson St. Once you exit the bus, walk east on E. Jackson St for a few minutes, and you will find the Charles Arnold House at 816 E Jackson St.
