    The Lincoln Home National Historic Site Visitor Center is located within a walkable distance of many downtown Springfield attractions. From the Amtrak train station, it's about a 7-block walk. Head south on 9th Street, then turn left onto Capitol Avenue. Walk east to 7th Street and turn right. The Visitor Center will be on your left.

    The Lincoln Home National Historic Site is located in downtown Springfield. From I-55, follow signs to downtown. Be aware of one-way streets and railroad crossings. The Visitor Center is located at 426 South Seventh Street. Parking is available in theVisitor Center parking lot for $2 per hour; credit and debit cards are accepted.

The Lincoln Home National Historic Site Visitor Center, located in downtown Springfield, Illinois, serves as the starting point for exploring the life and times of Abraham Lincoln. The Visitor Center offers free tour tickets to the Lincoln Home, allowing you to step back into 1860 and experience the world as Lincoln knew it. A park film, "Abraham Lincoln: A Journey to Greatness," screens regularly, providing an overview of his life and political career. The Visitor Center also houses a bookstore and restrooms. The four-block historic neighborhood surrounding the Lincoln Home includes twelve structures that have been restored to their 1860s appearance. You can explore the neighborhood on a self-guided basis, visiting the Dean and Arnold Houses, which feature exhibits about the Lincoln family and their community.
