From Naperville, head to the Naperville Metra Station. Take the Metra train on the Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF) line towards Chicago Union Station. Once you arrive at Union Station, exit and walk to the nearby 'Chicago Transit Authority' (CTA) bus stop. Board the CTA bus number 1 or 3 heading south. Get off at the Michigan Ave & 21st St stop, which is a short walk from Chess Records located at 2120 S Michigan Ave.

Rent a bike from one of the local bike-sharing stations in Naperville. Head southeast on the bike path towards the DuPage River Trail. Follow the trail until you reach the Riverwalk, then continue heading south until you connect with the bike lanes on Washington St. Follow Washington St until it merges into 75th St. Continue east on 75th St until you reach the intersection with Michigan Ave. Turn left on Michigan Ave and continue until you reach Chess Records at 2120 S Michigan Ave.

If you're feeling adventurous and the weather is nice, you can walk from central Naperville to the nearest Metra Station. Walk to the Naperville Riverwalk, then head towards the Metra station. Take the BNSF train towards Chicago Union Station. From Union Station, follow the signs to the 'Polk Street' exit. Walk east on Polk St, then turn right on Michigan Ave. Continue south on Michigan Ave for about 10 minutes until you reach Chess Records at 2120 S Michigan Ave.
