Discover more about Gurudwara Ber Baba Budha Sahib

Located approximately 20 km south of Amritsar, Gurudwara Ber Baba Budha Sahib, also known as Bir Sahib, is a revered Sikh shrine dedicated to Baba Budha Ji. Baba Budha Ji was a highly respected figure in Sikhism, who lived to the age of 125 and had the honor of anointing the five Gurus who succeeded Guru Nanak. Legend says that Baba Budha resided in the jungle outside Amritsar. The Gurudwara is particularly significant as the place where Guru Arjan Dev and his wife, Mata Ganga, were blessed with their son, Guru Hargobind. Mata Ganga sought Baba Budha's blessings for a child, and he foretold the birth of their son. In honor of this event, the Gurudwara still serves Missi Roti and onion as Prashad. The present complex was constructed by Baba Kharak Singh, a follower of Sant Gurmukh Singh Sevavale. Additions were made in 1951 and 1975, including a rectangular hall and a spacious divan hall. The holy book of the Sikhs, Guru Granth Sahib, is housed within the Gurudwara on a white marble canopied seat. To the north of the hall is the Amrit Sarovar, a 70 square meter pool. Visitors can experience the serene environment and rich history of the Gurudwara. A two-story residential block and Guru Ka Langar, a large dining hall, are located near the Gurudwara.
