Start your trek from the center of Darjeeling, preferably from Chowrasta (the main square). Take the road towards the Mall and follow the signs leading to the Tiger Hill trek. After about 1.5 km, you will reach the junction where you will see signs for Tonglu. Continue on this path, which is well-marked and leads through beautiful tea gardens and local villages. The trek is approximately 10 km and should take around 4-5 hours. Make sure to carry enough water and snacks, as there are no shops along the way. Enjoy the scenic views of the mountains and the lush forest as you ascend towards Tonglu.

Public Transport to Starting Point
From your accommodation in Darjeeling, walk to the nearest bus stand. You can catch a local bus or shared jeep heading towards Ghum. The ride will take about 30 minutes and cost around 20 INR. Once you reach Ghum, disembark and ask locals for the start of the Tonglu trek. The trail starts near the Ghum Monastery, and you can follow the path marked for Tonglu. This trek will take approximately 4-5 hours depending on your pace.
