    If you are in the center of Shillong, start at Police Bazar, which is a central hub. Head northeast on Police Bazar Road for about 800 meters. Continue straight until you reach the junction at the end of the road. At the junction, turn left onto GS Road (National Highway 6). Walk straight for approximately 2 kilometers. You will pass several local shops and eateries along the way. Keep an eye out for the signboards directing you towards the East Khasi Hills. After about 2 kilometers, you will see a sign for the Khasi Heritage Village on your right at the intersection with Synrang Kaban Road. Turn right and walk for about 1.5 kilometers. The village will be on your left. The total walking distance is approximately 4.3 kilometers and should take about 1 hour.

  • Public Transport - Bus

    From Police Bazar, walk to the nearest bus stop located on the main GS Road. Board a local bus heading towards Mawphlang or the East Khasi Hills. Inform the conductor that you want to get off at the Khasi Heritage Village stop. The bus ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Once you reach the stop, disembark and walk for about 10 minutes along the road, following the signs towards the village. The total time, including waiting and travel, should be around 1 hour.

  • Public Transport - Shared Taxi

    From Police Bazar, proceed to the shared taxi stand, which is located near the main market area. Look for a shared taxi heading towards Mawphlang or any taxi that has 'Khasi Heritage Village' mentioned. The fare is usually affordable, and the journey should take about 30 minutes. Once you reach the Khasi Heritage Village drop-off point, you may need to walk a short distance (about 5 minutes) to reach the entrance of the village.
