From Sioux City, follow US-75 N. Continue onto IA-12 N/US-75 N. Turn left onto Talbot Rd, then turn right to stay on Talbot Rd. Turn right onto Memorial Dr, and follow signs for Stone State Park. Once inside the park, follow the park road to the Pammel Valley Shelter area. Parking is available near the shelter. Parking is free within the park.

From the Martin Luther King Jr. Transportation Center in downtown Sioux City, check Sioux City Transit routes and schedules for the best connection to Stone State Park. From the closest bus stop to the park entrance, it will be necessary to walk or use a ride-sharing service to reach the Pammel Valley Shelter. A one-way bus fare is $1.80. A day pass is $5.00.
