Getting There

  • Bus

    From Salthill, head to the nearest bus stop on Salthill Promenade. Look for the bus stop named 'Salthill (Opposite the Aquarium)'. Take the Bus Eireann route 51 towards Galway City. After a short ride, get off at the 'Kinvara' stop. From there, you will need to walk approximately 15 minutes. Head southwest on the main road (N67) towards Kinvara. After about 1 km, turn left onto Cloonasee Road. Continue on Cloonasee Road for around 500 meters until you reach the Burren Nature Sanctuary & Botanical Collection, located on your right.

  • Walking

    If you prefer to walk, start at the Salthill Promenade. Walk along the promenade towards the east until you reach the end of the promenade. Continue onto the main road (N67) heading south towards Kinvara. This is a longer walk, approximately 8 km, which will take around 1.5 to 2 hours. Follow the N67 until you reach Kinvara. Once in Kinvara, look for signs pointing to Burren Nature Sanctuary or follow Cloonasee Road where the sanctuary is located on the right.

    If you prefer a quicker option, you can take a taxi from Salthill to the Burren Nature Sanctuary. Simply call a local taxi service or use a rideshare app to request a ride.
