From there, follow the signs towards Benbulben Forest Walk, which is about a 15-minute walk from the bus stop. You will be walking along a country road, enjoying the views of the surrounding landscape.

Walking
If you're feeling adventurous and prefer to walk, you can start from Sligo town center. Head northwest on O'Connell Street and continue to the N4 road. Follow the N4 out of town, and then turn onto the R292 towards Gortarowey. This route is approximately 7 km and will take about 1.5 to 2 hours to walk. Be cautious while walking along the road, as there may not be a dedicated pedestrian path. Upon reaching Gortarowey, follow the signs to the Benbulben Forest Walk entrance.

Consider renting a bicycle from one of the rental shops in Sligo town. Once you have your bike, head out of Sligo along the N4 road towards Gortarowey. The total distance is about 7 km, and cycling will take around 30-40 minutes. Once you reach Gortarowey, park your bike safely and follow the signs to the Benbulben Forest Walk.
