If you are starting from the Bergamo train station (Stazione di Bergamo), exit the station and head towards the main road, Viale Papa Giovanni XXIII. Walk straight for about 10 minutes until you reach the intersection with Via Torquato Tasso. Turn left onto Via Torquato Tasso and continue walking straight until you reach the end of the street, where it intersects with Via Zambonate. Turn right onto Via Zambonate and continue straight for about 5 minutes until you see signs for Piazza Mercato delle Scarpe. The square will be on your left.

From the Bergamo train station, take bus line 1 towards 'Orio al Serio'. Get off at the stop 'Piazza Matteotti'. From there, walk along Via Vittorio Emanuele II for about 8 minutes until you reach Piazza Mercato delle Scarpe. The square will be on your right.

Walking from Città Alta
If you are in Città Alta (Upper Town), start at the main square, Piazza Vecchia. Walk down Via Colleoni, which will lead you to the funicular station. Take the funicular down to Città Bassa. Once you exit, walk straight on Viale Vittorio Emanuele II for about 10 minutes until you reach Piazza Mercato delle Scarpe, which will be on your left.
