Walking
The Complesso Rupestre is located in the Sassi di Matera, easily accessible on foot from most points within the old town. From Piazza Vittorio Veneto, walk down Via Ridola towards the Sassi. Continue onto Via Madonna delle Virtù, following signs for the complex. The walk is approximately 10-15 minutes, offering scenic views along the way. Note that the Sassi have many stairs and slopes.

If arriving by bus or train to Matera, take a local bus towards the Sassi. Several bus lines stop near the Sassi, including Linea Sassi. Get off at a stop along Via Lucana and walk down towards the Sassi following signs for the Complesso Rupestre. Bus tickets cost approximately €1-2.
