Discover more about Palazzo delle Arti Napoli

Palazzo delle Arti Napoli (PAN), simply known as PAN, is a contemporary art museum located in the historic Carafa di Roccella palace on Via dei Mille in Naples. The museum was inaugurated on March 26, 2005, after the Municipality of Naples purchased and restored the building. PAN serves as a documentation center for contemporary arts, hosting exhibitions of painting, sculpture, photography, graphics, comics, design, video art, and cinema. The museum spans 6,000 square meters across three floors, featuring exhibition areas, a media library, spaces for educational activities, a dedicated library, cafes, and terraces. PAN's program includes retrospectives, exhibitions and cultural entertainment, book presentations, and conferences on contemporary socio-cultural interests. The museum also has a unit dedicated to younger visitors, which runs a series of "Pan Kids" activities. The building itself has a rich history. It was originally built outside the walls of Naples and in 1667, Francesco di Sangro, Prince of San Severo, gave his former country residence to his son-in-law Don Giuseppe Carafa.
