Walking
If you are starting from the Pompeii Archaeological Park entrance, exit the park and head towards Via Villa dei Misteri. Walk along Via Villa dei Misteri until you reach the intersection with Via Plinio. Continue straight onto Via Plinio, and then take a left onto Via delle Tombe. Follow this road for approximately 1 kilometer. You will see signs for Necropoli di Porta Ercolano along the way. The entrance is located on your right at Villa delle Tombe.

From the Pompeii Forum, exit towards Via dell'Abbondanza and head to the east towards Via Villa dei Misteri. Turn left onto Via Villa dei Misteri, and then another left onto Via Plinio. Follow Via Plinio until you reach Via delle Tombe. Continue straight for about 1 kilometer. Look for directional signs indicating Necropoli di Porta Ercolano, which will be on your right at Villa delle Tombe.

If you are at the Pompeii train station (Pompei Scavi - Villa dei Misteri), exit the station and head towards the main road, Corso Giuseppe Garibaldi. Walk along this road, then turn left onto Via Villa dei Misteri. Continue until you reach the junction with Via Plinio. Turn right onto Via Plinio, and then take a left onto Via delle Tombe. After about 1 kilometer, you will find the Necropoli di Porta Ercolano on your right side.
