If you are driving from Portofino, take the SP227 road heading northeast towards Rapallo. Continue on SP227 for approximately 8 kilometers. Once you reach Rapallo, follow the signs to Genoa (Genova) on the A12 motorway. After about 30 kilometers, take the exit for Genoa and continue following the signs for the city center. As you approach the city, look for signs to 'Centro Storico' (Historic Center) where Piazza S. Lorenzo is located. When you arrive in the historic center, use a nearby parking garage as street parking can be limited.

To get to Piazza S. Lorenzo using public transportation from Portofino, start by taking the local bus (Line 82) to Santa Margherita Ligure. The bus ride takes about 15 minutes. Once you arrive in Santa Margherita, transfer to a train at the Santa Margherita Ligure train station. Take the train towards Genoa (Genova) and disembark at the Genova Piazza Principe station, which takes approximately 30 minutes. From there, exit the station and walk to the Via Balbi, then follow the signs to the historic center. Continue walking until you reach Piazza S. Lorenzo, which is located in the heart of Genoa's historic district.
