From the historical center of San Gimignano, head towards the main square, Piazza della Cisterna. Once you reach the square, take the road leading out of the square to Via San Giovanni. Follow this street, which will take you out of San Gimignano and onto the main road towards Florence. The journey is approximately 30-40 minutes on foot. Continue walking until you reach the bus stop situated outside the town walls, where you can catch a bus to Florence.

From San Gimignano, head to the bus stop located near Piazza della Cisterna. Look for the bus heading to Florence. The journey will take about an hour. Once you arrive in Florence, the bus will drop you off near the central train station, Santa Maria Novella. From there, walk to Piazza del Duomo, which should take around 15-20 minutes. You can simply follow the signs or ask locals for directions to the iconic cathedral and the Campanile di Giotto.
