Walking
From the center of San Gimignano, head towards the main road, Via San Giovanni. Walk straight down this road until you reach the junction with Via della Madonna. Turn left onto Via della Madonna and continue walking until you reach the main square, Piazza della Cisterna. From there, you should see signs pointing to the bus station. Follow the signs to the bus station, which is located just off the square. Once at the bus station, catch the bus to Florence. The bus ride will take about an hour. After arriving at the bus station in Florence, follow signs for the city center. Walk towards Via Nazionale, and continue straight until you reach Piazza del Duomo, where the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore is located.

Start at the central bus station in San Gimignano, located near the historical center. Look for the sign for buses heading to Florence (Firenze). Purchase a ticket from the ticket machine or at the counter if available. Board the bus and enjoy the scenic ride to Florence, which should take around an hour. Once you arrive at the bus station in Florence, exit and walk towards Piazza della Repubblica. From there, head straight towards Via dei Calzaiuoli, and keep walking until you reach the impressive Piazza del Duomo, home to the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore.
