Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are in Castello, head towards the direction of Via Garibaldi. From there, make your way to the waterfront and follow the signs toward Piazza San Marco (St. Mark's Square). This iconic square is a central hub in Venice and is located to the west of Castello. Once at Piazza San Marco, the Bridge of Sighs is located just to the east of the square. You will see the bridge connecting the Doge's Palace to the prison. It is approximately a 15-20 minute walk from the heart of Castello to the Bridge of Sighs.

    If you prefer a scenic route, you can take the Vaporetto from the nearest stop in Castello, such as 'Giardini' or 'Arsenale.' Board Line 1 or Line 2 towards 'San Marco' or 'Piazza San Marco.' The ride will last about 10 minutes. After disembarking at the 'San Marco' stop, walk a few minutes towards Piazza San Marco. The Bridge of Sighs is just a short walk from the square. Please note that a single Vaporetto ticket costs around €7.50.
