A Glimpse into Venice's Craftsmanship: Gianni Aricò's Bronze Masterpiece

Getting There

• Walking

  If you are in the central area of Venice, begin at the famous St. Mark's Square (Piazza San Marco). From the square, head towards the Basilica di San Marco and exit through the archway to the right. Continue walking straight until you reach the waterfront. Once there, turn left and walk along the Riva degli Schiavoni until you come to the Ponte della Paglia bridge. Cross the bridge and continue walking straight until you reach the Campo Santa Maria Formosa. From there, head towards the Calle del Pestrin, then take a right onto Calle della Pietà. Continue straight until you reach the statue located in the small plaza next to the church of San Giovanni in Bragora.

• Vaporetto (Water Bus)

  If you prefer to take a Vaporetto, find the nearest Vaporetto stop (for example, at the Rialto Bridge or St. Mark's Square). Board the Vaporetto Line 1 towards 'Ferrovia' (the train station) and get off at the stop called 'Giardini'. Once you disembark, head south towards the waterfront and follow the signs to the Giardini della Biennale. Continue straight until you reach the small plaza where the Gianni Aricò, Fontana dei mestieri statue is located. This will be a short walk from the Vaporetto stop.

• Bicycle

  If you have rented a bicycle, you can ride along the Lido di Venezia to reach the area near Gianni Aricò, Fontana dei mestieri. From the Lido, take the ferry to the main island of Venice. Once you arrive, park your bicycle at a designated area and walk towards the Giardini area. Navigate through the narrow streets, following signs for the Biennale until you reach the statue. Remember that bicycles are not allowed in many areas of historic Venice, so make sure to park and walk once you are on the main island.
