    If you are traveling by car, start in the center of Buzen city and head towards Route 210. Follow this road until you reach the intersection with Route 57. Turn left onto Route 57 and continue for approximately 30 kilometers. You will pass through the town of Yufu. Keep an eye out for signs directing you to Mount Yufu. As you approach Yufu, turn left onto Yufuincho Kawakami. The West Trailhead will be on your left side. There is parking available near the trailhead.

    For those using public transportation, start at Buzen Station. Take a train on the Nippō Main Line towards Oita. After about an hour, get off at Yufuin Station. From Yufuin Station, you can take a local bus or taxi to the West Trailhead of Mount Yufu. If taking a bus, look for the bus bound for Yufuin Onsen, and ask the driver to drop you off at the West Trailhead. The bus fare is approximately 500 yen. The bus ride takes about 15 minutes. If you prefer a taxi, it will take around 10 minutes and cost about 1,500 yen.
