Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are in the heart of Tenjin, start at Tenjin Station (天神駅). Head west along the main street (天神地下街) that runs through the shopping area. Continue walking straight for about 5-10 minutes until you reach the intersection with the large intersection at Watanabe-dori (渡辺通り). Cross the street and turn left onto Watanabe-dori. Walk for about 3-5 minutes, then turn right onto a side street when you see a small park on your left. かっぱの泉 (Kappa no Izumi) will be located on your right at 2 Chome-11-1 Tenjin, Chuo Ward.

  • Public Transportation - Subway

    From Tenjin Station, you can take the subway if you prefer a quicker route. Board the Kuko Line (空港線) towards Fukuoka Airport. Get off at the next stop, which is Nakasu-Kawabata Station (中洲川端駅). Once you exit the station, walk south towards the river and then turn left to follow the riverbank. After about a 10-minute walk, you will reach the area of かっぱの泉. Note that a subway ticket costs around 260 yen.

    You can also take a bus from Tenjin Bus Center (天神バスセンター). Check the bus routes and look for a bus heading towards Chuo Ward. Get off at the stop called Tenjin 2-chome (天神2丁目). From there, walk about 5 minutes to reach かっぱの泉. The bus fare is approximately 210 yen.
