Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are in the heart of Tenjin, start at the Tenjin Subway Station. Exit the station and head towards the Tenjin Core shopping complex. From there, walk straight along the main road for about 5 minutes. You should pass by various shops and cafes. Keep walking until you reach the intersection with a large crosswalk. Cross the street and continue straight. Kego Shrine will be on your left at 2 Chome-2-20 Tenjin, Chuo Ward. Look for the traditional torii gate marking the entrance to the shrine.

    If you are further away from the center of Tenjin, consider taking the subway. Board the Kuko Line or Hakozaki Line and get off at Tenjin Station. Follow the exit signs to the Tenjin Core shopping complex, then proceed to walk as described above. The subway fare from most central locations in Fukuoka to Tenjin Station is around 260 yen.
