Getting There

  • Car

    If you're traveling by car from Hakone, head east on Route 1 (Tōmei Expressway) towards Fujisawa. After about 35 km, take the Fujisawa Interchange exit. Follow the signs for Enoshima, which will lead you to Route 134. Continue on Route 134 for approximately 6 km, and you will reach Enoshima Island. There are parking facilities available on the island, but be aware that parking fees apply, typically around 500-1,000 yen depending on the duration.

  • Train

    To reach Enoshima Sea Candle by public transportation, take the Odakyu Line from Hakone-Yumoto Station to Odawara Station (approximately 15 minutes). At Odawara Station, transfer to the JR Tokaido Line and travel towards Fujisawa Station (about 30 minutes). Once at Fujisawa Station, transfer to the Enoshima Electric Railway (Enoden) and ride to Enoshima Station (about 20 minutes). From Enoshima Station, it’s a short walk to the base of the Sea Candle. Note that the train fares will be around 1,500 yen in total.

  • Bus

    Alternatively, you can take a bus from Hakone to Fujisawa. Board a bus from Hakone to the Fujisawa Station bus terminal (about 45-60 minutes travel time). From Fujisawa Station, follow the same instructions as above to take the Enoshima Electric Railway to Enoshima Station. Bus fares will vary but expect to pay around 1,000 yen.
