Experience Ishiteji Temple

Getting There

  • Car

    If you are driving from the center of Iyo, head north on Route 33 towards Matsuyama. Continue on Route 33 for approximately 15 kilometers until you reach the intersection with Route 196. Take a left onto Route 196 and follow the signs for Ishiteji Temple. After about 3 kilometers, you will see the temple on your right. There is parking available nearby, but please note that it may require a small fee.

  • Public Transportation - Train

    From Iyo, make your way to Iyo Railway's Iyo Line station. Take a train heading to Matsuyama and get off at Matsuyama Station. From Matsuyama Station, transfer to the tram system and take Tram Line 2 towards Dogo Onsen. Get off at 'Ishiteji' station, which is the closest station to the temple. The temple is a short 10-minute walk from the tram station. Follow the signs directing you toward Ishiteji Temple.

  • Public Transportation - Bus

    If you prefer buses, from Iyo, head to the nearest bus station and look for a bus that goes to Matsuyama. Once in Matsuyama, transfer to a local bus heading towards Ishiteji Temple.
