Getting There

  • Car

    If you are driving from the center of Kai, head east on Route 20 towards Kofu. Continue for about 15 kilometers until you reach the junction with Route 52. Merge onto Route 52 towards Tokyo. Follow Route 52 for approximately 70 kilometers. Take the exit towards Setagaya and continue straight onto Route 246. After about 5 kilometers, turn left onto Kitakarasuyama 5 Chome. Jōman-ji will be located on your right at 5 Chome-7-1 Kitakarasuyama, Setagaya City, Tokyo 157-0061. There is parking available nearby, but be aware that parking fees may apply.

    Start your journey by taking a local train from Kai to Kofu Station. This train ride will take approximately 20 minutes. Once at Kofu Station, transfer to the JR Chuo Line towards Tokyo. After about 1 hour, get off at Shinjuku Station. From Shinjuku Station, take the Odakyu Odawara Line to Chitose-Funabashi Station. The journey will take around 30 minutes. Finally, take a bus from Chitose-Funabashi Station to Kitakarasuyama, which will take around 15 minutes. Jōman-ji is a short walk from the bus stop, located at 5 Chome-7-1 Kitakarasuyama, Setagaya City, Tokyo 157-0061. Make sure to check local bus schedules for the latest timings.
