If you are traveling by car, start by navigating to the city of Kai in Yamanashi Prefecture. From there, you will need to head towards Tokyo. Use the Chuo Expressway (中央自動車道) and follow the signs toward Tokyo. Once you reach the outskirts of Tokyo, take the exit towards Katsushika City. Continue on the local roads until you reach Okudo 1 Chome. The Kokonoe-beya Sumo Stable is located at 1 Chome-21-14 Okudo, which should be visible on your GPS or map application.
Public Transportation
To reach Kokonoe-beya Sumo Stable using public transportation, start by taking a train from Kai to Shinjuku Station (新宿駅). You can take the JR Chuo Line (中央線) to get there. Once at Shinjuku, transfer to the JR Sobu Line (総武線) heading towards Chiba. Get off at the Hirai Station (平井駅). From Hirai Station, you can take a bus or taxi to Okudo 1 Chome. If you choose to walk, it is about a 20-minute walk to the Kokonoe-beya Sumo Stable located at 1 Chome-21-14 Okudo.
