Car
If you're driving from Kai to Shin-Okubo Korean Town, start by getting onto Route 20 (Chuo Highway). Follow Route 20 until you reach the junction for the Shinjuku area. Merge onto Route 4 and continue towards Shinjuku. Once you reach Shinjuku, follow signs for Hyakunincho. The address for Shin-Okubo Korean Town is 1 Chome-4-15 Hyakunincho, Shinjuku City, Tokyo 169-0073. There are paid parking lots available nearby, so be prepared for parking fees which can range from ¥500 to ¥2000 depending on the duration of your stay.

To reach Shin-Okubo Korean Town via public transportation, start by making your way to the nearest train station in Kai, which is the Kai City Station. Take the JR Chuo Line train towards Tokyo. After approximately 1 hour of travel, get off at Shinjuku Station. From Shinjuku Station, transfer to the JR Yamanote Line and take the train towards Ikebukuro. Get off at Shin-Okubo Station. Once you exit Shin-Okubo Station, it’s a short 5-minute walk to Shin-Okubo Korean Town. Be aware that train fares from Kai to Shinjuku will cost around ¥1,500.

You can also take a highway bus from Kai to Shinjuku. Find the nearest bus terminal in Kai and board a bus heading to Shinjuku. The bus ride takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours depending on traffic. Once you arrive at Shinjuku Bus Terminal, follow the signs to the JR Yamanote Line, and take the train one stop to Shin-Okubo Station. The bus fare is generally around ¥1,000 to ¥2,000 depending on the bus service.
