Getting There

Bus
From Kyoto Station, take the Kyoto City Bus number 28 towards 'Higashiyama'. Ride for about 30 minutes and get off at the 'Tenryuji-mae' stop. From there, it's a short 5-minute walk to Sogenchi Teien. Head south on Sagatenryuji Susukinobabacho until you see the garden entrance on your left.

From Kyoto Station, take the JR Sanin Line train towards 'Hamaotsu' and get off at 'Saga-Arashiyama' Station (approximately 15 minutes). Once you arrive, exit the station and walk straight for about 10 minutes along 'Saga-Tenryuji' road until you reach Sogenchi Teien, which will be on your right.

If you're renting a bicycle in Kyoto, start from the city center and head towards Arashiyama. Follow the Kamo River north until you reach the 'Togetsu Bridge'.
