Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving from Shirakawa-go, take Route 156 south towards Takayama. Continue on this road for approximately 30 kilometers (about 40 minutes). Follow the signs for Takayama City. As you approach Takayama, keep an eye out for signs pointing to Hie Shrine (Hie Jinja). The shrine is located at 156 Shiroyama, Takayama, Gifu 506-0822. There is parking available near the entrance to the shrine.

• Public Transportation - Bus

  From Shirakawa-go, take the Nohi Bus bound for Takayama. The bus ride takes approximately 50 minutes. Once you arrive at Takayama Nohi Bus Station, exit the station and walk to the Takayama Train Station (about a 10-minute walk). From there, take a local bus (Hida Bus) towards Shiroyama. You can ask the bus driver or check local schedules to confirm the stop for Hie Shrine. The shrine is located at 156 Shiroyama, Takayama, Gifu 506-0822. Make sure to check the bus schedules in advance, as they can vary throughout the day.

• Walking

  If you are in the vicinity of Takayama Train Station, you can also walk to Hie Shrine. From the station, head south on Route 158. After about 1.5 kilometers (approximately 20-25 minutes on foot), turn right onto Shiroyama Street. Continue straight, and you will reach Hie Shrine at 156 Shiroyama, Takayama, Gifu 506-0822. The path is well-lit and offers a scenic view of the area.
