Getting There

  • Car

    If you are traveling by car, start your journey from Nagoya. Take the Chuo Expressway (中央自動車道) heading towards Matsumoto. After approximately 2 hours, exit at the Matsumoto IC (松本インターチェンジ). From there, follow Route 158 towards Azumino and continue until you reach Otari. The park entrance is located at 12883-1 Chikuniotsu, Otari, Kitaazumi District, Nagano 399-9422. Ensure you have cash for tolls, which can cost around 1,500 to 3,000 yen depending on your route.

  • Public Transportation

    For those using public transportation, start your journey from Nagoya Station. Take the Limited Express train to Matsumoto Station, which takes about 2.5 hours. From Matsumoto, transfer to the Oito Line and take a train towards Oito, getting off at Chikuniotsu Station (白馬大池). The park entrance is approximately a 10-minute taxi ride from Chikuniotsu Station, or you can enjoy a scenic 30-minute walk to the park. Be prepared for train fares totaling around 4,000 yen one way.
