From central Tokyo, head to Shinjuku Station. Take the JR Chuo Line (Rapid) towards Takao. Get off at Takao Station (approximately 50 minutes). From Takao Station, transfer to the JR Hashimoto Line and take the train towards Hashimoto. Get off at Hachioji Station (about 15 minutes). At Hachioji Station, transfer to the JR Yokohama Line and take the train towards Hashimoto. Get off at Akiruno Station (approximately 20 minutes).

From Akiruno Station, exit the station and look for the bus terminal. Take the bus bound for 'Tokura' (the journey takes about 20-30 minutes depending on traffic). Ask the bus driver to notify you when you reach the stop for Akigawa Valley, which is a popular tourist destination.
