Getting There

  • Public Transport

    To reach Hombo Distillery by public transportation, take a bus from Yakushima Airport or your accommodation in Yakushima. Board the 'Miyano-ura' bus (which can be caught at the Yakushima Airport bus stop) and ride for approximately 30 minutes to the Anbo area. Get off at the 'Anbo' bus stop. From there, it is a 10-minute walk to the distillery. Head south on Route 28; the distillery will be located at 2384 Anbo, on your left. Bus fare is approximately ¥400.

  • Taxi

    Taxis are available from Yakushima Airport and the main ports (Miyanoura and Anbo). A taxi from Anbo Port to the distillery will take about 5 minutes and cost approximately ¥1,000-¥1,500. From Yakushima Airport, the ride is about 20 minutes and will cost around ¥3,000-¥4,000.

  • Car

    If driving, the Hombo Distillery - Yakushima Denshogura is located at 2384 Anbo. From Anbo, head south on Route 28. Parking is available on-site. Note that rental cars are the most convenient way to explore Yakushima. Car rentals are available at Miyanoura Port and the airport. An international driving permit is required for most international visitors.
