Getting There

  • Car

    From Yakushima Airport or accommodations in Yakushima, take Route 1 south towards Anbo. Continue on Route 1 for approximately 15 kilometers until the junction for Route 112. Turn left onto Route 112, which leads towards the coast. After about 5 kilometers, signs for Kokemusu Forest will appear. Follow the signs to the forest entrance and parking area. Parking fees may apply. Car rentals are available at Miyanoura Port and the airport. Renting a car provides the most convenient way to access the trailhead.

  • Public Transport

    From Anbo Port, take a bus towards Shiratani Unsuikyo Ravine. From Miyanoura Port, take a bus to Shiratani Unsuikyo. The bus ride takes approximately 30 minutes from Miyanoura Port. Check the bus timetable for accurate departure times as services are infrequent. A one-day bus pass costs 2,000 yen. From the Shiratani Unsuikyo bus stop, it is a short walk to the entrance of Kokemusu Forest.
